1Sat Dec 31, 11New Year's One DayUnited States of America   (california - san francisco)50 mi00:00:0038
New Year's One Day: Sleep deprivation and exhaustion have completely fried my brain, so I'm just going to cut to the chase. Two days after nailing Titanium, I completed my first 50 miler. Yes, you read that correctly, first 50 MILER. What an incredible way to cap off this unbelievable year. Right here, right now, I truly feel like a super hero :-)
2Thu Dec 29, 11Across The YearsUnited States of America   (arizona - phoenix)52 km00:00:0038
Across The Years: It's all about heart, and this is the only part of me that never cramped up. I did it. 52 marathons in 52 weeks. I'm still in shock. Peeps of the Endorphin Empire, Thank you all for your overwhelming support. I encourage you to dream big, but also know that you must work hard, take risks, and make sacrifices. Only then will everything fall into place. Runner's high has taken me over the moon, and right now I am dancing on cloud nine with 10 shiny stars circling around me. Titanium Score Board: Completed. Mission Accomplished. Woo Hoo!!!!!
3Sun Dec 18, 11Santa's MarathonUnited States of America   (california - long beach)26.2 mi00:00:0038
Santa's Marathon: This Titanium Quest is a lot like a video game. You keep running marathons to move up in levels until you reach 10 stars. There have been numerous times when I saw the Endorphin Dude avatar quickly fade and the much dreaded "Game Over" warning blink before my eyes. But I never gave up. I fought for every finish, and now only one 50k stands in the way of the biggest victory of my life. Titanium Score Board: 51 down, 1 to go. Can I get a WOOT WOOT!?!?!?!?!?!!?
4Sat Dec 17, 11Deck The Halls MarathonUnited States of America   (california - marina del ray)26.2 mi00:00:0038
Deck The Halls Marathon: Just hit #50 for the year. Can't believe it. It seems like it has taken a decade to get here. I struggled today. My feet hurt and my legs stiffened up. Then it started to rain. I kept plugging along patiently. It took me awhile to get to that finish line, but I got there. I stayed focused and kept my eyes on the prize. Titanium Score Board: 50 down, 2 to go. I am soooo close.
5Sun Dec 11, 11Season's Greetings MarathonUnited States of America   (california - riverside)26.2 mi00:00:0038
Season's Greetings Marathon: I'm absolutely beat. These double header marathon weekends are exhausting. Right now I could use a new pair of legs. Lifetime marathon #56 is now in the books. Titanium Score Board: 49 down, 3 to go. COUNT IT DOWN WITH ME PEEPS! THREE!!!!!!!!
6Sat Dec 10, 11Jingle Bells Trail MarathonUnited States of America   (california - riverside)26.2 mi00:00:0038
Jingle Bells Trail Marathon: Cranked out another one! I got through today's brutal trail race thanks to a couple of Marathon Maniacs who kept me laughing throughout the 26.2 miles of trail hell. I'm so happy to get this done because it brings me one step closer to reaching my goal of 52 marathons in 52 weeks. Titanium Score Board: 48 down, 4 to go. Wow, that just sounds so surreal. ONLY 4 LEFT!!!
7Sat Dec 3, 11Rockin' The Trails MarathonUnited States of America   (california - orange county)26.2 mi00:00:0038
Rockin' The Trails Marathon: For life time marathon #54, I had to hop from one stone to the next, Frogger style, in order to cross a creek. Well, I ain't no Kermit The Frog. I missed one stone and fell in! Thankfully, this creek was very shallow. Glad to get this one done. Titanium Score Board: 47 down, 5 to go! I can now do the count down with one hand! FIVE!!!!!!!!
8Mon Nov 28, 11Running Off The Turkey MarathonUnited States of America   (california - huntington beach)26.2 mi00:00:0038

9Sun Nov 27, 11Feeling Stuffed MarathonUnited States of America   (california - lake forest)26.2 mi00:00:0038
Feeling Stuffed Marathon: What a difference a day--and quality sleep--makes. I got my mojo back, and everyone on the course who ran yesterday's marathon knew right away. I had so much fun today. The medal rocks with the cartoon turkey on it! I'm excited for tomorrow's race, the third and final in this Thanksgiving Triple Extravaganza! Titanium Score Board: 45 down, 7 to go. Let's count it down peeps: SEVEN!!!!!!!!
10Sat Nov 26, 11Mayflower MarathonUnited States of America   (california - coto de caza)26.2 mi00:00:0038
Mayflower Marathon: I played it very conservatively, and as a result, set a course record. 9 hour marathon, baby!! I'm not taking any chances with this foot. The inflammation from earlier in the week went down dramatically, but I played it safe. It paid off, as I was able to cross that finish line once again. Titanium Score Board: 44 down, 8 to go. Seriously, only 8 marathons to go and I achieve 52 in 52!
11Sun Nov 20, 11Rock The Park MarathonUnited States of America   (california - long beach)26.2 mi00:00:0038
Rock The Park Marathon: On July 25, 2010, my life changed when I crossed the finish line of the San Francisco Marathon, my inaugural 26.2 mile foot race. This was supposed to have been my one and done bucket list race, but the endorphins got to me and I instantly got hooked. Today, I reached a major milestone: Marathon #50. In just a little over a year and 4 months, I have run, jogged, walked, and or crawled FIFTY marathons. Can you imagine how happy I am right now? If it weren't for these beat up legs, I'd be bouncing off walls! Titanium Score Board: 43 down, 9 to go. SINGLE DIGITS BABY!!! Let's count it down: NINE!!!

15Fri Nov 11, 1111-11-11 Marathon of SarasotaUnited States of America   (florida - sarasota)26.2 mi00:00:0038
11-11-11 Marathon of Sarasota: The 11-11-11 Marathon of Sarasota was not just a race, it was an epic event. This 26.2 miler foot race had escape Marathon Maniacs from the Insane Asylum, a BQ-ing cape (I'll explain later), a complete broadcast from The Marathon Show, a costume changing runner (and no, it was not me!), and an epic fight to the finish for a spot on the podium between the Marathon Caped Crusader and his nemesis, Dave Mari. The Monkey Man ended up beating Endorphin Dude. Hey, at least I got a third place age division finish! What an incredible day. Titanium Score Board: 40 down, 12 to go!
16Sun Nov 6, 11Eye-Q Two Cities MarathonUnited States of America   (california - fresno)26.2 mi00:00:0038
Eye-Q Two Cities Marathon: Lifetime marathon #46 was *NOT* what I had expected. I got it done, thanks hugely to a nurse, a physical therapist, a guy who is about to get married, and a lady who finished her half marathon and stuck around to wait for her ultra marathon husband. What a crazy day this was. Titanium Score Board: 39 down, 13 to go. Getting close!
17Sun Oct 30, 11Zombie Runners Halloween MarathonUnited States of America   (california - palo alto)26.2 mi00:00:0038
Zombie Runners Halloween Marathon: Zombie Halloween Marathon. How very appropriate as my legs were dead from yesterday's dam marathon. I really needed this double, so I dug deep to get this one done. Another 52.4 mile weekend done. Life time marathon #45 is in the books. Titanium score board: 38 down, 14 to go!

22Sat Oct 1, 11Happy Trails MarathonUnited States of America   (california - coto de caza)26.2 mi00:00:0038

After nailing the Tahoe Triple last weekend, I am entitled to a slow poke marathon! #40 is now in the books. Titanium score board: 33 down, 19 to go. In the 'teens!!
23Sun Sep 25, 11Lake Tahoe MarathonUnited States of America   (california - lake tahoe)26.2 mi00:00:0038
Lake Tahoe Marathon: There is a point when runner's high reaches it's threshold. Endorphins explode and one is catapulted into a different stratosphere. This is called runner's pride. Three marathons in three days. 78.6 miles. I am deliriously proud. The fat kid who always got picked last in PE is now a Tahoe Triple Finisher!!!! This is the sweetest victory of my life. Titanium score board: 32 down, 20 to go.

26Sun Sep 18, 11Diablo Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - concord)13.1 mi00:00:0038
Diablo Half Marathon: Mount Diablo is a BEAST. It kicked my butt, stabbed my neck, punched my face, po...ked my eyes out, and pretty much left me out there to die. I DNF'ed at mile 19 because of nausea and dehydration, but the super awesome race directors let me drop down to the half marathon event, so I do get credit for Half Fanatics.
27Sun Sep 11, 11Patriot's Day MarathonUnited States of America   (california - huntington beach)26.2 mi00:00:0038

San Francisco Marathon: When I look at my two San Francisco Marathon medals, all I think about is how I no longer have to shoot insulin into my body. The 2010 San Francisco Marathon was supposed to have been my one and done bucket list marathon, but somewhere along the way I got hooked. I ran my second SF Marathon today and 29th overall. I never thought that feeling from the 2010 race could ever be duplicated, but exactly that happened today. What an incredible day. What an incredible year. What an incredible life. Titanium scoreboard: 22 down, 30 to go.
38Sat Jul 23, 11The Marathon Show MarathonUnited States of America   (california - newport beach)26.2 mi07:32:0038

Drum roll please...the answer is...drum roll please...13.1. This marathon caped crusader gave his best, but after passing a kidney stone the day before, he just couldn't muster up the energy to complete the full marathon. Since DNF was out of the question E-Dude veered off to the half, and even then he struggled to complete the 13.1 miles. But he did! Half Marathon #39 is now in the books.

Nanny Goat 24 Hour Run: At the end of the day, my sciatic nerve played no role at Nanny Goat. Injuries have made this past month very frustrating for me. Completing this 50k brings me great confidence and pride. Having this goat hanging around my neck makes me very happy. Titanium scoreboard: 17 down, 35 to go!
44Sun May 1, 11Flying Pigs Half MarathonUnited States of America   (ohio - cincinnati)13.1 mi00:00:0037
Flying Pigs Half Marathon: I got piggy with it! Finish time: 4:43-ish. Sub-5! Now before y'all get excited, I do need to clarify that this was my HALF marathon finish time. I made the decision to drop to the half marathon because my body ran out of gas after Saturday's Country Music Marathon. Had I attempted to run the full marathon today, I probably would... have collapsed, so I walked the whole way. Sometimes you can pull out all the stops to finish a race, other times you just have to listen to your body and cut your losses. I may not have moved closer to Titanium with this race, but I do get to add Half Marathon #38 to my resume. Now that's something to get piggy about!

This is E-Dude's second 50k, and the marathon caped crusader is feeling good! On top of the gargantuan PR, E-Dude got to fly into the finish line with The Epinephrine Pup! (Epi-Pup did not run 31 miles, she only showed up for the finale, FYI). Ultra marathon #3 completed. Titanium scoreboard: 15 down, 37 to go!

Labor Of Love Marathon: Mother Nature went wild today, putting Endorphin Dude in a blizzard in the middle of the desert for six miles or so. Then she brought the sun back. Run The Dove Marathon: An Endorphin first! Ladies & Gentlepeeps of the Endorphin Empire, yours truly ran the wrong course! Your marathon caped crusader ran on the wrong side of the mountain! I wondered why nobody passed me. Here I thought I was super elite! Well, this explains why I got lost! Nonetheless, Endorphin Dude completed marathon #17. Titanium scoreboard: 10 down, 42 to go. Woo Hoo!
52Sun Mar 27, 11Oakland Running FestivalUnited States of America   (california - oakland)26.2 mi07:25:0837
Oakland Running Festival: Cramps, blisters, and a few colossal meltdowns along the course did not stop Endorphin Dude from finishing marathon #16. Look at the time on that clock. The race directors had already taken away the timing mat, but thanks to Jennifer Walker and Elizabeth McKay, Ultra Woof and I got our medals and official times. This was a brutal race. What got me through was my running partner in crime and a couple of bling whores I know. I am happy and relieved to be done. Titanium Score Board: 9 down, 43 to go!
53Sun Mar 20, 11Surgical Artistry Modesto MarathonUnited States of America   (california - modesto)26.2 mi00:00:0037
Surgical Artistry Modesto Marathon: While the marquee marathon this weekend took place in Los Angeles, I opted to run a race in Modesto. It was here in this Northern California town in the central valley that I discovered this little thing called running. I ran my first 5k here in September 2009, and since then, I have run 37 half marathons and 14 full ones. It was only appropriate that I returned to the place that started it all to run my 15th marathon. This was a tough race because of Mother Nature's unpredictable mood swings, but at the end of the day, I got the job done. Marathon #15 is now in the books. Titanium scoreboard: 8 down, 44 to go!
54Sat Mar 12, 11Canyon Meadow Trail MarathonUnited States of America   (california - oakland)26.2 mi00:00:0037
Canyon Meadow Trail Marathon: Marathon #14 done!! Huge win for Endorphin Dude. First race back since being on the injured reserve list. And it was a trail marathon too! Got a little muddy, but this marathon caped crusader got through it. It's great to be able to run pain free! E-Dude is back on track. Titanium scoreboard: 7 down, 45 to go!
55Sun Feb 13, 11Mardi Gras Rock 'N' Roll MarathonUnited States of America   (louisiana - new orleans)26.2 mi07:28:3537
Mardi Gras Rock 'N' Roll Marathon: DNF. In the running community, these dreaded three letters stand for "Did Not Finish". In the Endorphin Empire, they stand for "Dude! No Flunking!" I continued to repeat this montra in my head and was able to finish this race. Yes, I was dead last, but I did it safely. Lucky #13 is in the books!
56Sun Feb 6, 11Surf City USA MarathonUnited States of America   (california - huntington beach)26.2 mi05:56:0937

Run In The Sun Marathon: After last weekend's down grade from the 50k to the 30k, I was very happy to get this marathon completed! The Charlie Alewine Races are very low key, and that's what I like. I can just put on my ear buds, mind my own business, and run! This race puts me back on the Titanium track! 4 down, 48 to go!
58Sun Jan 23, 11PCTR Pacifica Trail 30kUnited States of America   (california - pacifica)30 km06:11:0037
PCTR Pacifica Trail 30k: It's a half marathon plus another 5 miles! This really was supposed to my 50k, but I couldn't make the cut off time and retired at mile 18. I ain't complaining. With this race, I got half marathon #37 (and then some) in the books!
59Sun Jan 16, 11Arizona Rock 'N' Roll MarathonUnited States of America   (arizona - phoenix, scottsdale, tempe)26.2 mi06:40:3937
Arizona Rock 'N' Roll Marathon: Marathon #10 is in the books. This is my third one in a row, and now I can add another state to my list. I'm up to 4! I will need to look at my Garmin and analyze what happened at miles 10 and 18. I don't like mental melt downs, and that's exactly what happened!
60Sun Jan 9, 11Walt Disney World MarathonUnited States of America   (florida - orlando)26.2 mi06:45:5037
Walt Disney World Marathon: GOOFIFICATION!!! If you have been following Endorphin Dude's journey, you will know that The Goofy Challenge has been my #1 goal this past year. All I talked about was this race, and I trained my Mickey Mouse ears off for it. I accomplished that goal this weekend and have proven to myself that I can do just about anything when I put my mind, heart, and soul into it. I am so proud of myself. Endorphin Dude is no longer on cloud nine. He is comfortable perched on cloud 39.3. GOOFIFICATION!!!

2010
62Fri Dec 31, 10New Year's One Day Run - 12 HourUnited States of America   (california - san francisco)40.3 mi12:00:0037
New Year's One Day Run - 12 Hour: How did Endorphin Dude ring in the new year? He ran an ultra marathon: 12 hours around a lagoon in San Francisco. E.D's goal was to hit 50k, but the endorphins pumped through his system and he ended up running 40 whopping miles, finishing 9th out of 25 runners. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
63Sun Dec 19, 10ZombieRunner Bay TrailUnited States of America   (california - palo alto)13.1 mi00:00:0037
ZombieRunner Bay Trail: Rain, gusty winds, and mud didn't stop Endorphin Dude from completing his 35th life time half marathon! I pretty much walked the whole way, but I got it done!
64Sat Dec 11, 10Summit Rock Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - saratoga)13.1 mi04:29:2937
Summit Rock Half Marathon: There have been races where I feared the DNF. For the Summit Rock Half Marathon, I actually feared the DNS. I was very under the weather the day before and I didn't think that I would be able to show up. However, thanks to shot of NyQuil and a good night sleep, I woke up ready to run. Trail races are hard for me, and I worked hard to get to the finish line. It took me 4 and half hours, but I did it. I'd like to reiterate that me being sick the day before had nothing to do with me taking this long to finish. Trails are extremely difficult for me and it will take a while before I can complete a sub-4 trail race! I'm happy to be done and I'm happy with my bad ass medal with bad ass bird ready to attack!
65Sun Dec 5, 10Las Vegas Rock & Roll Half MarathonUnited States of America   (nevada - las vegas)13.1 mi02:56:3837
Las Vegas Rock & Roll Half Marathon: One year ago today I ran my 3rd half marathon. Today, I ran my 33rd. I ran this one in 02:56:38, which is an incredible time considering I jumped into the casino and played a few rounds of slots! I wanted Half Marathon #33 to be a PR, and by that I mean PARTY RACE! I got exactly that. Too much fun. What an incredible weekend. Life is good.
66Sun Nov 28, 10Running Off The Turkey Half MarathonUnited States of America   (00:00:00 - huntington beach)13.1 mi03:18:4337
Running Off The Turkey Half Marathon: In bowling, if you nail three strikes in a row, you get a turkey. This Thanksgiving weekend, I struck out! Endorphin Dude trotted his way through the Turkey Triple, completing 3 half marathons in 3 days, and 32nd half marathon overall. Best part? Check out that trophy. Woo Hoo!!!
67Sat Nov 27, 10Thanksgiving Weekend Trail Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - coto de caza)13.1 mi04:14:1537
Thanksgiving Weekend Trail Half Marathon: Endorphin Dude and trail races is tantamount to an American on the clay of Roland Garros. Trails are definitely not my favorite surface, but I managed to get through this race in a little over 4 hours. Half marathon #31 and the second of the Turkey Triple is in the books! Woo Hoo!
68Fri Nov 26, 10Feeling Stuffed Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - long beach)13.1 mi03:11:0437
Feeling Stuffed Half Marathon: Woo Hoo! Half Marathon #30 is in the bag! This is the first of three this weekend. By Sunday evening I should burn off a tenth of what I ate on Thanksgiving. Yes, I ate that much.
69Sun Nov 14, 10Big Sur Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - monterey)13.1 mi00:00:0037
Big Sur Half Marathon: I completed my 29th half marathon this weekend. Actually, let me rephrase that. I completed my 28th and 29th half marathon this weekend. Yup, another double weekend in preparation for The Goofy Challenge! I am happy to say that I finished my second race, The Big Sur Half Marathon, in 2:39:15. This was one day after running the Bakersfield Track Club Half Marathon! I did very well in Monterey because this was a very fun event. I got to run with Alva Woof and Rebecca Faulkner, and I got meet some people I've been Facebook friends with for a long time. This weekend is one big win for Endorphin Dude!
70Sat Nov 13, 10Bakersfield Track Club Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - bakersfield)13.1 mi00:00:0037
Bakersfield Track Club Half Marathon: Half Marathon #28 completed! Bakersfield is not the most exciting place in the world, but I'm glad I did it because I got to meet Marathon Maniac Rose-Marie Jeanpiere! This race was the first of my double half weekend! Next up is The Big Sur Half Marathon in Monterrey. Woo Hoo!
71Sun Nov 7, 10Eye-Q Two Cities MarathonUnited States of America   (california - fresno)26.2 mi06:27:4137
Eye-Q Two Cities Marathon: Shin splints at mile 2? Mental breakdown at mile 3? This was not a good start to The Eye-Q Two Cities Marathon. After a very slow start, I was able to pick it up. I was hoping to PR here in Fresno, but that didn't happen. Nonetheless, I'm proud that I was able to snap out of my funk and finish the race in 6:27:41.0. Another hard earned medal.
72Sun Oct 31, 10Dean Karnazes Silicon Valley MarathonUnited States of America   (california - san jose)26.2 mi05:52:1737
Dean Karnazes Silicon Valley Marathon: In preparation for The Goofy Challenge in January, I turned this Halloween weekend into my own Goofy Challenge called "The Endoofy Challenge." My task this weekend was to run a half marathon on Saturday and then a full one on Sunday. I accomplished this goal with flying colors! One day after running The Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon, my 27th half marathon to date, I ran the Silicon Valley Marathon. The kicker: I PR'ed by 8 whopping minutes! Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, I am so ready for you!!!!
73Sat Oct 30, 10Healdsburg Wine Country Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - healdsburg)13.1 mi00:00:0037
Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon: As part of my Goofification process, I set out to run a half/full combination this weekend. My first double of this kind. First up for me is the Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon. I showed up as an evi vampirel bunny! Trick or treat! I took this race nice and slow and had a lot of fun along the way freaking people out with my bunny fangs! I finished somewhere in the neighbourhood of 3:16, which is good, because the Goofy Challenge allows 3:30 for the half marathon. I had a lot of fun today. Even though there weren't any Marathon Maniacs or Half Fanatics around, I still managed to channel them. Oh another thing, I didn't wear the cape!
74Sun Oct 24, 10Los Angeles Rock & Roll Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - los angeles)13.1 mi00:00:0037
Los Angeles Rock & Roll Half Marathon: And just like that, Endorphin Dude completes half marathon #26! I was nowhere near a PR, but boy oh boy, did I have fun in LA. Special thanks to all the Marathon Maniacs and Half Fanatics who came out and made this half one big party!!!
75Sun Oct 17, 10Long Beach MarathonUnited States of America   (united states - long beach)26.2 mi06:00:1337
Long Beach Marathon: For the first time in five tries, I have finally completed a marathon without struggling. I'm not saying that it was easy--running 26.2 miles is never easy. I didn't struggle this time around, unlike the previous four. No cramps, no altitude sickness, no mental melt downs. I stayed focus and got the job done. As a ...result, I was able to shave 12 whopping minutes off my personal record in Long Beach. Woo Hoo! Oh, one other thing, I also earned my California Dreaming medal for having completed Surf City, San Francisco, and Long Beach. All the leaves are brown and the sky is grey...
76Sun Oct 3, 10San Jose Rock & Roll Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - san jose)13.1 mi02:58:4637
San Jose Rock & Roll Half Marathon: On October 3, 2009, I ran my very first half marathon in San Jose. One year later, I returned to the scene of the crime to run my 25th. That's a pretty monumental milestone. What's even better is that I earned my Rock Legend medal at the place where it all started. It gets even better. They say that you never forget your first, and this time around, I got to witness my sister cross the finish line for her first--at the same race where I crossed the finish line for the first time. The 2010 San Jose Rock & Roll Half Marathon definitely falls in the top 5 best Endorphin Dude races ever.
77Sun Sep 26, 10Lake Tahoe MarathonUnited States of America   (california - tahoe city)26.2 mi00:00:0037
Lake Tahoe Marathon: This was by far the hardest 26.2 miler to date. I had to deal with altitude sickness and "The Hill From Hell." I had to pull out all the stops to finish this race. At mile 19, I was throwing up and seriously considered the DNF. Thankfullly, I listened to my body and walked the rest of the way. I may have been the last to cross the finish line, but I did so safely. I am so frickin' proud.
78Sun Sep 19, 10Lake Merced Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - san francisco)13.1 mi02:45:3637
Lake Merced Half Marathon: I ran my 24th half marathon this morning. This race was very special for me because it took place in San Francisco, my home, and my running club was the one who put it on. I joined Dolphin South End Runners last year, and it was the best thing I've ever done for my health. Sure, I run half and full marathons all over the United States, but it's all the DSE 10ks and 4 milers that get me prepared for those longer distances. It's also nice to have such a supportive and fun group of people whom I get so excited to see every weekend! The Lake Merced Half Marathon was not an easy run for me, but I pulled through with a 2:45:36 finish, a time that gives me confidence going into next weekend's Lake Tahoe Marathon. Wow, two lakes in a row! I'm still scratching my head. Did I seriously just run my 24th half marathon? I did!
79Sun Sep 5, 10Dodge Rock 'n' Roll Virginia BeachUnited States of America   (virginia - virginia beach)13.1 mi02:49:5637
Dodge Rock 'n' Roll Virginia Beach: I completed my 23rd half marathon in Virginia Beach this weekend. That's 23 half marathons in 11 months! I came into this race not expecting to do well because I was exhausted. Hurricane Earl did not make traveling easy, and as a result, I lost a lot of sleep and was very tired from running around from terminal to terminal and gate to gate trying to get a flight to VA Beach. Nonetheless, I finished this race in 02:49:56. Sweet!
80Sun Aug 29, 10Santa Rosa MarathonUnited States of America   (california - santa rosa)26.2 mi06:44:0037
Santa Rosa Marathon: Marathon #3 completed! It took me nearly an eternity get across that finish line, but I did! Woo Hoo!
81Sun Aug 22, 10Extraterrestrial Full Moon Midnight MarathonUnited States of America   (nevada - rachel)26.2 mi07:46:4837
Extraterrestrial Full Moon Midnight Marathon: Full marathon #2 completed! I have to say, though, E.T. kicked my butt. I wish that alien would just phone home and go away! It took me 7:46:48 to finish this grueling race. I learned something valuable this weekend: don't expect a PR on the Extraterrestrial Highway. The high altitude, the gradual incline of 1000 feet over the first 13 miles, and sleep deprivation, don't really make for ideal marathon conditions. In spite of all this, I still crossed that finish line and earned my second 26.2 miler medal. Woo Hoo!
82Sat Aug 7, 10Salinas Valley Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - soledad, ca)13.1 mi02:38:2637
Salinas Valley Half Marathon: After experiencing one of the greatest moments of my life two weeks ago at the San Francisco Marathon, I seriously feared that this morning's half marathon would be a let down. It wasn't. I went out there and kicked butt. I felt awesome pretty much the whole way. This is half marathon #22, and I'm still loving it.
83Sun Jul 25, 10San Francisco MarathonUnited States of America   (california - san francisco)26.2 mi06:12:0037
San Francisco Marathon: I accomplished something pretty extraordinary this weekend: I ran my first full marathon. That's 26.2 miles. This was the single most difficult thing I've ever set out to do, but it is, hands down, the most rewarding. I worked so hard to achieve this goal, and when I crossed that finish line, I saw the past year of blood, sweat, and tears flash before my eyes. What an incredibly surreal moment, one that felt like a euphoric out of body experience. I have never ever felt runner's high to that degree. I will be replaying that moment in my head, over and over again, for the rest of my life.
84Sun Jul 11, 10Jungle Run Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - los altos)13.1 mi02:37:0737
Jungle Run Half Marathon: Half Marathon #21 completed. Woo Hoo! There's an elephant on my medal too!
85Sat Jul 3, 10Pacifica Trail RaceUnited States of America   (california - pacifica)13.1 mi03:45:3937
Pacifica Trail Race: Half Marathon #20 done! I came into this trail race completely skeptical, but after running it, I have decided not to give up on trails just yet. Yes, I felt like an American at Roland Garros, but with a little more practice and some trail shoes, I'll be able to get it. The Pacifica Trail Race is a big win for me. I finished in 3:45:39, which is 6 minutes better than my Horseshoe Lake Trail race. I wanted to finish under 4 hours and I did. More importantly, with the San Francisco Marathon only 3 weeks away, my confidence is riding high.
86Sat Jun 26, 10Double DipseaUnited States of America   (california - mill valley)14.2 mi05:05:0036
Double Dipsea: Half Marathon #19 completed. However, I'm not going to sugar coat it. The Double Dipsea nearly killed me. This is a handicap race, but because I am a 36 year old male, I did not get a head start. I was already way back in the back of the pack, so it slowed me down even further when I took the wrong turn and ended up going 2.8 miles in the opposite direction. I finished this grueling race in 5:05:00. 5 hours! This was not your typical half marathon, so I'm glad I was able to finish. I have to rethink this trail race thing though. I think I'm better off running in the city!
87Sat Jun 12, 10AT&T Giant Race Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - san francisco)13.1 mi02:38:0036
AT&T Giant Race Half Marathon: I ran my 18th half marathon this weekend. This was also my 6th half marathon in 5 weeks, and a very special one at that. Don't get me wrong, all my races are special, but there's just something about running in San Francisco that makes me feel good. This awesome city is my home and I'll be running my first full marathon here in a few weeks. The AT&T Giant Race was a lot of fun. We started at the park and finished at home plate. I'm not much of a baseball fan, but boy was it fun running on the field!
88Sun Jun 6, 10San Diego Rock & Roll Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - san diego)13.1 mi02:34:2136
San Diego Rock & Roll Half Marathon: I ran my 17th half marathon in San Diego this weekend. Can you believe it? 17. What an awesome experience. I finished the race in 2:34:21. The best part of this race is that I got to witness not one but two first timers cross the finish line. A big congrats to Jessica Shen and Kathleen Boitano! You two absolutely rock!
89Mon May 31, 10Saddleback Memorial Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - laguna hills)13.1 mi02:34:0036
Saddleback Memorial Half Marathon: Half Marathon #16 completed! I had fun with this one, thanks to my gracious hosts, Suzy and Brian. I finished this one in 2:34. It was hot and hilly!
90Sun May 23, 10Horseshoe Lake Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - palo alto)13.1 mi03:50:0036
Horseshoe Lake Half Marathon: 15th half marathon done! This was my first trail race, and it was my toughest race to date. The elevation gain was 2250 feet, and the terrain was rocky. These were mountains, not hills. It was quite a feat to complete this course, but what makes it even sweeter is that I did it 24 hours after running the Vacaville half marathon. Slowly but surely, my body is getting goofitized. I need to spend some quality time with Mr. Bubble now.
91Sat May 22, 10Sunrise Rotary Club Fiesta Run Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - vacaville)13.1 mi02:39:0036
Sunrise Rotary Club Fiesta Run Half Marathon: Most Dramatic Finish EVER!! Half marathon #14 was a nail biter. In preparation for The Goofy Challenge, my task at hand this weekend is to do back to back half marathons. So, I decided to take the Vacaville half slow and steady. My goal was to walk/jog a very easy pace all the way through and finish in 3 hours. My master plan got derailed at the 10 mile mark, when the sag wagon began to tail gaited me! I had to run for my life because I didn't want that bus to DQ me!! Amazingly enough, I didn't collapse at the finish line!
92Sun May 16, 10Avenue Of The Vines Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - lodi)13.1 mi02:40:0036
Avenue Of The Vines Half Marathon: I reached a milestone today. I ran my 13th 13.1 miler. What a crazy race it was. I had a colossal melt down at mile 4, and it didn't look like I was going to be able to recover. Endorphin Dude was looking more like Endorphin DUD. I kept thinking to myself, "uh, the San Francisco Marathon is 10 weeks away and you're giving up at mile 4 of a half?!" Unacceptable! Thanks to a change in music, a Cytomax shot, and an unexpected visit from my marathon guardian angel, I was able to find what I needed to finish the race.
93Sat May 1, 10End Of The Trail Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - visalia)13.1 mi02:30:5036
End Of The Trail Half Marathon: I ran my 12th half marathon in Visalia, CA, this weekend. I figured, why not, I can visit my mom and run a race. I managed to bounce back from my dismal showing in Nashville last week and improve by 20 minutes! This was a tough race for me, as I thought I was going to pass out at mile 9. I really hit the wall. Luckily, there was a Gatorade station right there. I crossed the finish line at in 2:30:50. Yay!
94Sat Apr 24, 10Country Music Half MarathonUnited States of America   (tennessee - nashville)13.1 mi02:48:4536
Country Music Half Marathon: What a memorable weekend: tornado watch, thunder storms, shelter in place, and a PR. Yes, thank you Nashville for the personal record. I scored my WORST time here! 13.1 miles at 2:48:45. DAMN! I do have to say, though, that all these things made my 11th half marathon an experience I will never forget! :-)
95Sun Apr 11, 10The US Half - "The Other Half"United States of America   (california - san francisco)13.1 mi02:22:5536
The US Half - "The Other Half": This one was especially awesome because I ran it in my back yard. I love San Francisco, and to be able to run across the Golden Gate Bridge was quite an experience. Every moment of this 13.1 miler reminded me of my humble beginnings in my quest to get healthy when I walked my dog everyday to the Golden Gate Bridge. I still can't believe that one year ago I thought I was having heart attack. As a result, I made healthy changes and now I am the happiest I've ever been in my life. What a difference a year makes. Life is beautiful.
96Sun Mar 28, 10Oakland Running Festival Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - oakland)13.1 mi02:34:4936
Oakland Running Festival Half Marathon: I just completed my 9th half marathon, and what an experience it was. Oakland is such a colorful and vibrant city, and running through it was so much fun. I had been rehabilitating my bum knee all week, so I did not know how this race was going to play out. Fortunately, my knee healed in time and I finished the race at 2:34:49. Not bad for not training the whole week!
97Sun Mar 21, 10Surgical Artistry Modesto Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - modesto)13.1 mi00:00:0036
Surgical Artistry Modesto Half Marathon: Yay! Half Marathon #8 completed! The best part about this one? I walked/jogged the whole way and finished in 2 hours and 40 minutes. That, and the fact that all my Modesto friends ran it with me :-)
98Sun Mar 14, 10Rock & Roll Dallas Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - dallas)13.1 mi02:26:2136
Rock & Roll Dallas Half Marathon: Yeeee-Ha!!! Got Half Marathon #7 under my big lone star belt buckle. I love you Dallas!! My finish time at the Dallas Rock & Roll Half Marathon was 2:26:21. Out of the 7 races I've run, this is my 6th best time, or 2nd worse depending on how you look at it. At first I didn't know why because I felt good, I had no mental melt downs, and my body never cramped up. Why then did it take me this long? I figured it out on the plane: I was having too much fun. I slowed down to soak in the atmosphere, I took plenty of pictures, I schmoozed with the volunteers giving out Cytomax. I was thoroughly enjoying myself. So my question is, should I really push hard to earn a PR, or should I continue to have fun at these races? I do what I do because I want to be healthy, and that goal has been accomplished. I have nothing to prove to anyone, so I'm going to get out there and have fun!!!
99Sun Feb 28, 10Rock & Roll Mardi Gras Half MarathonUnited States of America   (louisiana - new orleans)13.1 mi02:19:2136
Rock & Roll Mardi Gras Half Marathon: Every time I run a half marathon, I feel like I've added 13.1 years to my life. This one may be #6, but it feels like the first time all over again. I've corrected my errors from my previous three races, and crossed the finish line in 2:19:21. Running is not easy. I surprise myself every time. This former fat kid is feeling good!
100Sun Feb 7, 10Surf City Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - huntington beach)13.1 mi02:23:5836
Surf City Half Marathon: Cowabunga Dude!! Half Marathon #5 completed. I am one third of the way to my California Dreaming medal! Now I just have to complete the San Francisco and Long Beach. Today was a good day. My official time is 2:23:58. I will continue to work hard to achieve my personal record, but for now, I am basking in the glory of completing my fifth 13.1 miler. Woo Hoo!
101Sun Jan 17, 10Arizona Rock & Roll Half MarathonUnited States of America   (arizona - phoenix)13.1 mi02:23:4836
Arizona Rock & Roll Half Marathon: Endorphin Dude completes another half marathon! Woot!! Woot!! No falls, no temper tantrums, no melt downs. This superhero dude may not have gotten his PR in Arizona, but boy oh boy, did he have fun.
2009
102Sun Dec 6, 09Las Vegas Rock & Roll Half MarathonUnited States of America   (nevada - las vegas)13.1 mi02:32:1436
Las Vegas Rock & Roll Half Marathon: I ran my third half marathon of 2009 in Las Vegas, it didn't go quite exactly the way I had planned. I was on my way to shattering my 2:11:32 record when I kissed the concrete. I slipped on somebody's GU and landed on both my knee caps. I couldn't stop bleeding. For the rest of the race, I limped, I whined, I grimaced, I cussed, and I did whatever I had to do to get to that finish line. I managed to complete the race at 2:32:14.
103Sun Nov 8, 09Eye-Q Two Cities Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - fresno)13.1 mi02:11:2636
Eye-Q Two Cities Half Marathon: The San Jose Rock & Roll Half Marathon was not a fluke! I was ecstatic when I finished my first half marathon in 2:15:15. I am happy to announce that I did even better at my second! I completed half marathon #2 in 2:11:26. Woo Hoo!
104Sun Oct 4, 09San Jose Rock & Roll Half MarathonUnited States of America   (california - san jose)13.1 mi02:15:1536
San Jose Rock & Roll Half Marathon: This one was my first, and I absolutely cannot believe that I did it. I was on runner's high for days, comfortably lounging on clouds 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13.1. My legs, knees, and thighs may have been completely banged up, but my heart was yearning for more.

Congratulations!
